On Thursday, Sept. 27th, the Maine Grocers & Food Producers Association (MGFPA) hosted Maine’s 6th Annual Best Bagger Championship to honor our state’s “best” grocery checkout bagger.
Nicole Cote of the Bar Harbor Hannaford Supermarket is Maine’s 2019 Best Bagger Champion.
The eight competing best bagger contestants were judged on the national criteria which includes speed, proper bag building technique, distribution of weight between bags, style, attitude, and appearance. Nicole receives an expense-paid trip to San Diego (for two) to represent Maine at the 2020 National Championship, held at National Grocer Association Show, February 24, 2020. There she will compete for a grand prize of $10,000!
This will be Nicole’s first time traveling on an airplane! She’s been bagging for 19 years and enjoys spending time with her new granddaughter.
