The Maine Grocers & Food Producers Association is pleased to announce the 2015 Maine Grocers & Food Producers Association Scholarship Program recipients. The recipients will each receive a $1,000 scholarship.  Please join me in wishing them the very best!

 

 

 

Katie DyerKatherine Dyer of Oakland attends Husson University where she is studying to be a pharmacist. Katherine is employed by the Waterville Shaw’s Supermarket, Osco Pharmacy where she was recently promoted to be a Student Pharmacist. She started her career as a cashier for Shaw’s and values this experience as she interacts with pharmacy clients.

Matthew_PazdziorkoMatthew Pazdziorko of Winthrop attends Thomas College where is intends to graduate with a BS in Finance and an MBA.  Matthew is employed by the Winthrop Hannaford where he is currently training to be an Evening Operations Manager.  Once completed, he plans to apply to Hannaford’s Retail Management Trainee program.

Cody Gray of Verona Island attends Maine Maritime Academy where he is studying logistics.  Cody intends to employ these skills in a grocery management position.  Cody is employed by the Bucksport Hannaford where he values his interactions with his co-workers and customers.

The Scholarship Committee select winners on the basis of financial need, academic merit, involvement in the community and school activities and career goals, especially those related to business and the food industry.
