President Obama signed the FY 2015 Omnibus Appropriations bill providing funding for the vast majority of the federal government. Included in that legislation is language that provides relief from the two new restrictions on the hours-of-service restart rule championed by Senator Susan Collins.
Senate President Mike Thibodeau and Speaker of the House Mark Eves announce the Joint Standing Committee assignments for the 127th Legislative Session. The MGFPA will be invited to make introductory remarks before each of the Committee’s of interest in early January.

The Maine Department of Labor notified MGFPA that major changes to federal OSHA recordkeeping rules will go into effect on January 1, 2015. Some of our members may now be required to record occupational injuries and illnesses using the appropriate forms: the 300, 300A, and 301. This would depend on that business’ type of work identified by the business’s North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code.
